Calvin Theological Seminary has several specialized centers and institutes that can enrich your study, ministry and congregation.
Calvin Institute of Christian Worship* – Promotes the scholarly study of the theology, history, and practice of Christian worship and the renewal of worship in worshiping communities across North America and beyond.
Center for Excellence in Preaching – Cultivates a high standard of excellence in preaching in the students and graduates of Calvin Theological Seminary. It also serves as a resource for preachers in other denominations and institutions. The Center provides a mentorship program, book discussion groups, conferences and other events, preaching scholarships, and a rich collection of preaching resources on its website.
H. Henry Meeter Center for Calvin Studies* – A research center specializing in John Calvin and Calvinism located in the Hekman Library of Calvin College and Calvin Theological Seminary.
Institute for Global Church Planting and Renewal – Created in 2011, a movement to equip current and future church planters and provide congregations in the Reformed and Presbyterian traditions with missionally-focused revitalization tools.
Junius Institute for Digital Reformation Research – A forum for the promotion of research into the Reformation and post-Reformation eras, particularly through the use and development of digital tools and sources.
The Bavinck Institute – Named after Herman Bavinck (1854-1921), the great Dutch Reformed theologian and author of the Reformed Dogmatics, it exists to further communication among scholars, teachers, pastors, and students interested in the theology of Herman Bavinck and the Bavinck tradition. It also provides resources for and encourages scholarship in the Bavinck tradition.
The Timothy Institute – A ministry which trains and equips pastors and lay leaders for work in their home churches in Africa, Europe, Latin America, and Asia. The name for the institute was drawn from 2 Timothy 2:2, in which Paul instructs Timothy, “And what you have heard from me through many witnesses entrust to faithful people who will be able to teach others as well.”
