Student Leadership

You are called to serve the Church as a leader. While you prepare for ministry at Calvin Seminary, you will find plenty of ways to lead and serve this community.

Student Senate

Even in your first year at Calvin Seminary, you can serve as a representative of your class on Student Senate. This organization provides key student leadership within the Seminary, acting as a voice of student ideas to the administration.

Student Senate also works to promote seminary community through events like the All-Seminary Picnic, Christmas Around the World, Dies Natalis—the seminary birthday party—and the annual Table Tennis Tournament.

  • How to get involved: Elections are held each year to choose representatives from each masters-level degree program to serve on Student Senate.

Lead worship

Join the Seminary’s chapel-planning team to serve the community with your worship-leading gifts. This team meets on Tuesdays to plan services for Wednesday and Friday mornings. Even if you don’t serve on this team, you can contribute to services by doing readings, sharing your testimony or acting as liturgist.

  • How to get involved: Contact the Chapel committee.

The Seminary Choir helps lead worship at chapel once each week. Join this group at the beginning of the school year.

Student organizations

Serve the community by providing leadership in one of the several student organizations active each year, like the Church Planting Club, the Social Justice Club, Scripture Memory Club, Korean Student Association or student publications Kerux and Stromata.

Other leadership opportunities

You can find ways to serve in many other ways at Calvin Seminary. Help organize events, lead the food pantry, or plan the regular Town Hall Gatherings.
